Olika faktorer gör det svårt att forsränna Grand Canyon, såsom flodrisker, kostnader, forsar, tid och att få en plats på en resa. Men det finns också många sätt att lindra dessa faktorer. Är forsränning i Grand Canyon farligt?
Forsränning i Grand Canyon är inte farligare än andra forsränningsturer. I själva verket, eftersom det regleras avNational Park Service (NPS)det finns extra åtgärder för att garantera din säkerhet. De vanliga riskerna med alla flodresor gäller dock fortfarande. Här är de största farorna tillsammans med hur man undviker och förebygger dem.

Alla på resan bör veta hur man simmar i fort vatten och bära PFD:s med hög flytande effekt. Ställ in säkerheten när du springer stora forsar för att minska mängden simtid om det finns simmare.
Särskilt under sommarmånaderna kommer skillnaden i lufttemperatur och vattentemperatur att ta andan ur dig. Det gäller att vara beredd på att ta ett dopp under de stora forsarna, även i värmen. Överväg till exempel att ta på dig en våtdräkt innan stora forsar.

Alltid, men särskilt när det är över 100 grader, se till att hålla dig hydrerad med tillräckligt med elektrolyter. Under monsunsäsongen, var uppmärksam på stormar och var extra försiktig när du utforskar sidovandringar. Försök att undvika att sätta upp ditt tält under smuliga väggar.

Privatforsränningsresor är billigare eftersom du gör allt arbete. Generellt roterar resor mellan kockbesättningar, vattenpojkar och flickor, toalettbetjäning och andra uppgifter för att sprida jobben. Många människor kommer att hyra båtar och annan flerdagarsutrustning av en outfitter. Utrustarna kommer också att planera måltider, packa mat, kassera allt ditt avfall och tillhandahålla transfer mellan floden och deras lager. De låter dig vanligtvis lagra fordon vid deras bas också. Dessa resor kommer att börja omkring $1000 men förvänta dig att ditt slutpris blir högre på grund av extra utgifter.

Totalt har mina privata resor varierat mellan $1300-$1800. Det var 22 dagsturer så totalt var min restid runt en månad. För upplevelsen av att vara i det stora diket är det helt värt det.
Vad är Grand Canyon rapids klassificeringssystem?
Du kanske har hört talas om de berömda klass 8 och 9 forsarna på Grand Canyon och varit väldigt rädda och förvirrade eftersom andra floder bara har forsar som går till klass 5, klass 6 är okörbara. Detta beror på att det finns ett unikt 1-10 klassificeringssystem för forsen i Grand Canyon.
Det betyder inte att forsarna är dubbelt så hårda som alla andra floder, det tillåter bara att mängden stora vågtågsforsar kan beskrivas mer i detalj.

En av de första guideböckerna som skrivits avBuzz Belknapbeskrev forsen med en betygsskala 1-10 och trenden har fortsatt sedan dess. Antalet betyg för dessa forsar kan enkelt jämföras med ett 1-5 klassificeringssystem genom att helt enkelt halvera betyget.
Vilken är den svåraste forsen på Grand Canyon?
Lava Falls är ökänt för att vara den hårdaste forsen på Grand Canyon, en klass 9/10. Det är flodmilen 179,2, en av de sista stora forsarna. Lyckligtvis är det möjligt att spana in Lava Falls på båda kusterna, beroende på var du vill springa forsen och flödena.
Forsen är skrämmande eftersom scouten är högt över floden, vilket gör att särdragen ser mindre ut än de är när du ror genom dem.

Ett knepigt inslag är det enorma avsatshålet i mitten av floden i början av forsen. Rafters måste välja att gå till höger eller vänster om hålet först, och sedan ta sig ner för resten av de gigantiska kraschande vågorna, lateralerna och stenarna. Den vänstra linjen tvingar flottarna att komma farligt nära avsatshålet innan de tar utslag mot resten av V-vågorna nedanför. Den vanligare högra linjen går också runt kanthålet bara för att trycka mot ostrivjärnet i botten.
Men det är bäst att inte tänka på hur hårt Lava är. Det är bättre att närma sig den som vilken annan fors som helst och välja en lämplig linje, ställa säkerhet, be till flodgudarna och njuta av åkturen.
Oavsett var du väljer att springa Lava kommer du definitivt att fira (om du har en ren linje eller inte) på tequilastranden.
Hur lång är väntetiden för att flotta Grand Canyon?
Kommersiella outfitters råder takbjälkar att anmäla sig 18 månader i förväg för en resa nerför Grand Canyon. Detta kommer att variera från outfitter till outfitter men för att säkerställa de datum du vill måste du anmäla dig tidigt.
